Job 19:25-27 “For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God: Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold…”
Despite all of his afflictions; his seemingly unjust sufferings; his hurt & confusion; his unanswered questions – Job KNEW something. He knew – some 4,000 years ago – what we need to know today. In fact, we can – and ought – to know it much better than Job did; seeing we are in the New Covenant and have the Apostolic writings.
Job knew he had a Redeemer. He knew that his Redeemer lives. He knew that his Redeemer will stand on the earth at the last day. He knew, that even though he would die and be buried – and worms eat the flesh off his bones – yet, in a body, he would see God for himself.
In this ancient book, we find exactly the truth contained in the New Testament. Jesus Christ is God incarnate (in the flesh – Jn 1:1, 14; 1Tim 3:16). He is our Redeemer (Rom 3:24, Eph 1:7, Heb 9:12). He is alive (Rom 6:9, Rev 1:18). He will stand on this earth in the last day (Zec 14:4, Mt 25:31-33, Rev 19:11-16, 20:4). No matter how long we’ve been dead or how rotten our corpse – we will be given glorified, resurrected bodies (1Cor 15:51-52, 1Thess 4:13-17, Philp 3:20-21, Col 3:4). We shall see Him (Mt 5:8, Jn 17:24, 1Cor 13:12, 1Jn 3:2).
How did Job know this? I don’t know, other than inspiration of The Holy Spirit. He had the inward witness of it. It was real to him and was his hope in life and death.
This is a good example to us today. Perhaps we’re not experiencing suffering to the degree Job did, or Paul did, or many of the other saints. Nevertheless, we’re all suffering to some degree or another. Yet, like Job, in our suffering we KNOW something very real and very important. Jesus our God and Redeemer lives and is coming back to this earth. Even if we die before hand, He will resurrect us and give us eternal, glorious bodies just like He has. We will be vindicated. It is He who justifies us (Rom 8:31-39).
We are victorious now and forever. We win in life or death. No matter how things look or what we’re experiencing, we know the victory is our in Jesus Christ. Don’t let hopelessness and despair overcome you. You have a Redeemer and Savior, ready to come and give you eternal rewards. These are the promises and this is the hope of the saints. KNOW this.

Thank you, Pastor, J.D.!
I would only add a couple of passages from the Hebrew Scriptures, i.e., Isaiah 53:1-12, and Isaiah 61:1-11, which Yeshua read from the scroll on a Sabbath day in the local synagogue, claiming that it was fulfilled in their presence that day! HalleluYah!
