Congregations Worldwide, Jews & Christians, those who worship the God of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob, will be PRAISING THE GOD OF ISRAEL in unison from the Torah On August 13 or 14, 2011
In a show of solidarity with the God of Israel, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, participating churches/organizations will read from the Torah (the first 5 books of the bible) during their weekend service this coming August 13 or 14. This weekend was chosen for several reasons. The Torah portion that will be read in every synagogue around the world for that weekend will be from Deuteronomy 3:23 through 7:11.
The suggested reading from this Torah portion is the greatest commandment found in Deuteronomy 6:4-9 that we love the Lord with all our heart, mind, soul and strength. It is known in Judaism as the Shema and begins with asking Israel to hear and obey the Lord and realize He is the one and only God. So, Christians will literally be joining a chorus of voices proclaiming on earth and to the heavens that the God of Israel is the One and Only God.

Deuteronomy 6:4-9
“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one!
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart,
with all your soul, and with all your strength.
And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart.
You shall teach them diligently to your children,
and shall talk of them when you sit in your house,
when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.
You shall bind them as a sign on your hand,
and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.
You shall write them on the doorposts of your house
and on your gates. (NKJV)
